RASD 2.0 Released to Customers


Release Assessment and Scope Dependency Tool (RASD) has been given an upgrade!!

What is RASD?

The Release Assessment and Scope Dependency (RASD) tool is a  simple, self-learning tool for customers, which enables the ease of consumption and adoption of impacts, improvements and innovations in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.

What does RASD do?

It is an add-on tool for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Customers, which provides a personalized view of SAP’s What’s New Viewer

SAP S/4HANA Cloud follows a Half Yearly release cycle. The number of changed/new features introduced every release could run into thousands. Additionally, there are numerous changes introduced with each Continuous Delivery(CD). Scanning through this large change list to find out the  changes relevant for their implementation is very time consuming for SAP’s customers. RASD condenses this list to show only those changes which are relevant for a customer’s scope.

The latest version+++ of this tool,  RASD2.0, comes to you with an ease of access and enhanced user experience.

How to access RASD 2.0?

RASD 2.0  can be access by a customer’s S-user ID. If the user is already logged in with their S-user, then the access will be seamless . Partners can login using their customer’s S-user IDs

Home screen has four filters: Tenants, Region, Release and Scope. By default, used scope is displayed. Customers have option to see the overall scope (Release details) or their activated scope

Usage Based Impact

This card is visible on selecting either used or activated scope. It shows the “day one” impact of a release i.e. the deleted and deprecated objects for the customer’s used scope for the selected release. The objects include APIs, Apps and CDS views. The card contains a “Download Impact” button, which lets the user download the same information into a spreadsheet. On clicking this card, it shows a tabular view of this information.

Usage Based Improvements

This card is visible on selecting either used or activated scope. This card shows the changed, new
objects and “must-know” What’s New items  for the customer’s used scope/activated scope for the selected release. The card contains a “Download Improvements” button, which lets the user download the same information into a spreadsheet. On clicking this card, it shows a tabular view of this information

Other information available in the RASD 2.0 tool

  • Upcoming Events: This card shows dates of Release to Customer (RTC) of an upcoming major release(for 2SL Landscape), the dates when the upgrades will be available in  Q- systems and P-Systems. This card is visible with all the three available scopes.
  • Scope item details: This card the number of activated or used scope items (based on the values in the filter “Scope”).
  • Impacted what’s new Items: This card shows the list of What’s New Title, relevant for the selected scope
  • Localization Features: This cards shows the objects applicable for the selected regions(in the Region filter). It also provides links to the localization toolkit and Roadmap explorer.
  • New Features**: This card shows all the new features available with a certain release. The information here is categorized based on the object types and not scope items. Object types include APIs, APPs, Authorizations and many more..
  • Summary**: This card gives the summary of all the changes, this can be filtered
    based on lines of business or categories

  • Select the desired scope (default is “Used”), release, region(s), tenant(s)
  • The card “Usage Based Impact” will show the summary of the objects impacted
  • Click on the card to know details about each of these object
  • Click on the “Download Impact” button to download this list to a spreadsheet

How  to know the improvements shipped in an upcoming release (changed/new) 

  • Login to RASD via a customer S-User ID
  • Select the desired scope(default is “Used”), release, region(s), tenant(s)
  • The card “Usage Based Improvements” will show the summary of the objects impacted.
  • Click on the card to know details about each of these object
  • Click on the “Download Improvements” button to download this list to a spreadsheet
