What’s New in Central Procurement – SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2202

In this blog post, you can find the latest collection of new capabilities and features in the area of Central Procurement – SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2202 version.

This blog post focuses on features that are delivered as part of enhanced and new applications for the release.

Please note that with immediate effect the Preliminary What’s New document for SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2202 is available for customers and partners.

Customers and partners need a valid S-User to access the documents.

Enhanced and New Features:

Central Approval of Purchase Requisitions from Connected Systems

With this feature, you can now enable the central approval of purchase requisitions from the SAP S/4HANA Cloud connected systems.

Enhancements in Process Purchase Requisitions Centrally

With this app, you can now:

  • Process purchase requisitions marked for central processing in Expert Mode. Navigating to Process in Expert Mode will automatically unblock the purchase requisitions marked for central processing. You will be able to successfully save or order the purchase orders from Expert Mode navigation.
  • Create purchase orders in Expert Mode in the SAP S/4HANA connected system, using the app Manage Purchase Orders.

Enhancements in Create Purchase Order Centrally

With this app, you can now:

  • Create or view purchase orders in Expert Mode in the SAP S/4HANA connected system, using the app Manage Purchase Orders.
  • View purchase orders in the SAP S/4HANA connected system, using the app Manage Purchase Orders.

Enhancements in Manage Central Purchase Contracts

With this app, you can now:

  • Create items for a central purchase contract with the item category Consignment.
  • Distribute central purchase contracts to connected systems based on the Unified Key Mapping Service (UKMS) defined for materials in the hub system.
  • Modify payment terms of the distributed purchase outline agreement in the section Distributed Outline Agreement and release the central purchase contract.
  • Simulate the distribution of central purchase contracts and check if the distributed purchase outline agreements would be created successfully or result in errors.
  • View the approval details of a central purchase contract hierarchy, such as the processors involved and status, under the section Approval Details.

Enhancements in Mass Changes to Central Purchase Contracts

With this app, you can now:

  • Update value of the field Central Purchasing Group for multiple central purchase contracts headers and central purchase contracts hierarchy headers.

Guided Buying for Central Procurement with SAP Ariba Buying (3EN)

The Guided Buying for Central Procurement with SAP Ariba Buying (3EN) now enables you to do the following:

  • Create reservations in SAP S/4HANA Cloud for inventory reservation requests received from guided buying.
  • Create requisitions in SAP S/4HANA Cloud for limit items received in guided buying requests.

OData API: Central Purchase Contract

The OData API interface Central Purchase Contract now enables you to perform the following:

  • Modify payment terms of the distributed purchase outline agreements of central purchase contracts. Hence, the new entities Distributed Outline Agreement and Distributed Payment Terms have been introduced.
  • Create items with the item category Consignment for central purchase contracts.
