- Administrators provision the access on Cloud ALM.
- After you have requested the access, below mail will trigger and you are ready to use the CALM.
Project Management Use Case Cloud ALM
Login to CLOUD ALM Portal and Navigate to SAP CLOUD ALM for Implementation
To create a new project, click on Create and add the required details, in task template we can select from the below dropdown available which will populate the project implementation roadmaps accordingly.
In this case we have selected SAP S/4HANA CLOUD in the task template for project Plant Maintenance.
Navigate to Timebox where you will be able to design the timelines for project phases as per the implementation strategy
We can also define Sprints and Milestones in the project created.
Navigate to tab team where we can segregate the duties of individuals as per the assigned role in project implementation.
Click on SAVE.
Navigate to tab scope, you cannot see any scope defined in the project as of now.
To create a new scope, navigate to Process tab, and click on Manage Scope, below screen will open to add the scope in the project created
You will now be able to see the details of the newly created scope in Process.
The concept of adding scope is to select the required Solution Process for project implementation.
In this case we have selected Plant Maintenance Scope for INDIA. So our scope “ Plant Maintenance Scope” will have all the selected Plant Maintenance solution process for INDIA only.
We are now to ready to use SAP ACTIVATE and SAP Best practices for fit to standard workshops to build end to end business process for the customer.
Click on the selected solution process, and create a requirement for any customization on the business process.
In this case we have created requirement for solution process “Basic Handover of Bill of Material” under scope “Plant Maintenance Scoping”
We can further approve and create a user story or a task under the requirement.
Now what is the difference between a user story and a task?
A user story is typically functionality that will be visible to end users and worked by more than one person.
A task is generally worked on by just one person.
In our case we have created a project task under the for “1ZI – Basic Handover of Bill of Material”
After creating a project task , click on the project task created and assign the team and other required details to complete the task. We can also create a sub task under the project task, and define the deliverable accordingly.
Once it is approved for deployment , the status of the requirement changes to ” confirm Deployment“.
If you have any transport changes or any other specifications associated with the changes, it can be populated in the description. And the status of the requirement changes to ” Deployed“.
This is how CLOUD ALM as a product can be used to make the project management and implementation easy, as it also provides you with a dashboard to track the project status and deliverables.
