As a supplier on Ariba Network, your company profile is a powerful marketing tool for your company on SAP Ariba Discovery. A complete and robust company profile means that you’ll be better matched with buyers looking for the products and services you offer.
You’ll be prompted to complete your company profile when you first sign-up on Ariba Network, however, you can update this at any time.
If you’ve been on Ariba Network for a while, it’s worth revisiting your profile to make sure you’ve selected the best categories and keywords that describe your business. Buyers on Ariba Network may search by specific product keywords, and you want to make sure your profile comes up where relevant.
To update your profile go to the “settings” icon in your navigation bar, then select “company profile”. Scroll down until you get to the section for “Product and Service Categories, Ship-to or Service Locations, and Industries”. Click “browse” for product and service categories.
SAP Ariba uses the United Nations Standard Products and Services Codes (UNSPSC) to standardize category classification. The Product and Service Categories classification system includes four levels:
Segments are the broadest level, so if you supply all the products or services in a segment, select only the segment. Your customer will still be able to find you if they search for any of the sub-categories under that segment. The more granular you get, the more specific the leads you would be matched with.
In addition to product categories, you can also add keywords in the “company keywords” section. Use broad keywords, and include terms that your customers would use as well.
Be as comprehensive as you can with relevant keywords describing your products or services, as this will also impact your search-ability
